Join my crusade?
Sup? Rosa here and I'm thinking of apping for Van Grants for my 5th character. You probably won't see him until next month. >_> I would love to hear ideas and suggestions as I'm working on the app. Here's a few of mine of what I have in store for him.
1) He'll be working at the Church as one of the Judges? Or be the Captain and Senior boss of the Church Intelligent Operatives and spies company? While he can work as a Commander, the title would be moot point because...
2) He'll break away from the Church eventually to create his own Faction and he'll be a commander automatically. Van wanted to break away to create his own order and he might practice several occult knowledge of Divination that can be seen as acts of heresy toward the Church. I just need at least one character/player to join him as a part of his Faction for technical app sakes. His own Faction would be called "The Order of Lorelei" and his troops/company will be called, "The Oracle Knights". Basically, Lorelei can be a patron saint spirit (or pagan deity of the Old Religion?) and his troops will upheld the spiritual beliefs and honor code that Lorelei himself will upheld.
3) Van himself would be a natural-born psychic. It means he has vivid dreams and most of them are precognitive, meaning he can clairvoyant "see" in his mind some visions of the past, present, and future. Some of them are not even his own, but about the people close to him. He can also read omens and signs like reading the flight of birds (augury) or through tools of divination.
EX: He cannot see a person's death (unlike the Fon Master), but he can see an upcoming battle coming toward his way. He just can't see the outcome which side would win or loose the battle, and etc.
It was this psychic ability that gives him the idea of calling his troops, "The Oracle Knights".
Any ideas or suggestions are welcoming, since I'm in the middle of app writing.

Yeah, here's where I'm at. I'm in the middle of ding some canon reviewing so I can make proper adjustments to his AU. So yeah, I'm figuring out the details too, so you're not the only one. I know an Orig!Ion that wanted to join us too a while back, but was unable to do so because his type of character needed Van's support.
Considering the Abyss people (Ion, Ori!Ion, the God Generals, Luke and etc) needed Van for background history reasons, because he's quite a crucial character, tis why I picked him up.
As toward your question, that sound good to me. They'll be working for the Church for a while before they break off from the Church to create their own order.

Ah, I see; kicking things back and forth sounds like it would be a great idea, then, if you're up for it? I don't have very much set in stone about what I want to do with Asch, aside from wanting game parallels in the aspects of him being a noble and having lost his whole lifestyle at a young age. That would definitely be much easier to do with a Luke, and someone said in the chat yesterday that someone might want to pick him up? So if that pans out, that could work.
And okay, sounds like a good start then.

Obviously, I'd like Van to be the one that recognized Sync and picked him up off the streets, but that calls for him being involved in the deal with O!Ion and the clones/replicas.
Secondly, I strayed here with my interpretation, so while Sync would go with Van on most things, I can't picture him being the mindless servant that goes and kills himself in the final act.
But, I think we can work things out. =D

Okay, no prob. I still need to work out the cloning/replicas/necromancy deal to make it fit for a potential O!Ion player and I'm going to ask the mods what is their stance on that someday.
Straying is fine, just look at my ideas up there. With the concept of AU, you're enabled to play a parallel life that mimics their canon life. Just make it make sense. Van may expect Sync to be obedient to his orders as a soldier, but not as a mindless servant. Van may expect Sync to follow his instructions all the way through. Actually killing yourself is seen as an act of mutiny and insubordination, so suicide is out of the option.
I got the idea of roleplaying Van after my boss gives me hell at work. The traits I'm putting in Van: Controlling, trying to provide order, being in authority. In other words, Van is your boss at da Church and he makes sure Sync gets paid on time. LIKE A BOSS.

Okay, I'm with you on this then. As for the fomicry thing, I went with straight cloning, but I do recall they said Van could be someone to introduce fomicry since Jade and Dist didn't do it here.
As for orders? I am find with that, but I am hoping for Sync to maybe get over his "I HATE THE WORLD." thing, which will take a looooooong while... So until then, I think we have three members for the Order if our nifty Asch gets accepted~

*summons the bishoujo bubbles* I'm betting on Anise to change your heart and your view of the world. Van, however, wanted to the change the world...though I'm not clear on that, since we don't have all the details of the mechanics yet. Cloning is possible, but doesn't seem to be the crux in this roleplay setting, because there is the Rift and Corruption that is the crux.
Van won't give you much orders. They're basically like sending Sync on missions like investigating a criminal, arresting someone or assassinate a heretic.

But anyway tl;dr I hadn't made up my mind 100% about which character I wanted to app most and how to convert some canon points to this AU, so I thought if you guys all want to plot something out to match up, I could fill in one of the missing links?
I don't really mind who I play, but I definitely don't want to step on any toes if you've got potential folks lined up! I currently play Natalia elsewhere, and I've also played both redheads and Tear before, and I'm working on muses for Legretta and Frings, so. If you guys are looking for one of them, I'd love to join you.
