Character Torture

So with the upcoming events at the end of the Spring Court, Kushana will technically be able to claim the throne of Dagaria.

Obviously, in the effort of keeping the game nice and chaotic, I'd rather she not smoothly move into power. So what I need is an evil (or at least morally ambiguous and ambitious) faction to stop her when she makes her move. Ultimately this would lead to a dramatic chase across the capital with Kushana escaping by the skin of her teeth, and then having to frantically plot and make deals with people just to stay a step ahead of the people trying to kill her before she can take the throne.

One faction hunting her would be nice, but ideally I would like several who want to see her NOT be in power. I want her to be a fugitive for most of the game.

Any interested parties?

Failing all else I would be cool blocking her with the Church. Delacroix probably was the one who ordered her mother poisoned.

Having some at least theoretical do-gooders involved in his death would be good!

Not having a woman on the throne, and also the Church has been drooling over the opportunity to seize power for awhile now. He'd try to do it somewhat surreptitiously, naturally.

A woman on the throne!? INCONCEIVABLE!

We will stomp you, woman.

I'm sorry what was that HERETIC!?

On that note depending on how the attempt goes Delacroix will totally fabricate information on Kushana heresies.

Good. Heretic.

I can't help with the enemy option, but I do have Gannicus that is available for any time Kushana needs some VERY unexpected help.

Except heavy armor takes far too much time to get off for sexytimes. *shot*

But yes, I'm rather fond of the weird not!flirting CR they have. He is mostly a man out for himself, so there is a chance he could be hired by the evil enemies to try and kill her and just... change his mind. Or something.

Comments about her frigidness aside, he can always hope!

He will be her crude knight in shining pectorals.

Someone to make deals with to keep her alive? She could use an ally if you get enough people interested in going after her, though Olivier won't be able to be too open about it until she breaks off into her own faction.

Just fyi if Bradley shows up you might get shoved in a small dark place.

No, he's one of the main villains, it has to take ten episodes of wearing him down.

Though the tank better not fail as badly here.

We'll have to sword-proof this one.

Might put spikes on it too.

How about an inconvenient Goblin managing to seriously injure her magically, with intent to keep the kingdom instable?

I offer up Smithy and his faction of the Smithy's Gang, [personal profile] smithysfactory. He got airships and a lot of weapons and monsters under his control. His only wish is to conquer the world to make it into a world of weapons.

Shall I be your adversary for this?

Well, Xellos will be working with Tokoyami, and they're out for generally causing chaos in Dagaria, so he'd be representing a faction in his efforts.

Of course, he could cause said chaos by leading her into the hands of other people who want her dead.

Xellos would easily be given control over varieties of "evil beings", by the by. Should he ever have use for them anyway. Any monster from Japanese mythology including the creatures from Slayers are all fair game. Definitely while Ninetails is still recovering for the moment.

Temeraire can be the getaway car!

...once he actually figures out how to get to Kushana since he can't really get to any properly-human-sized indoor spaces short of tearing the roof off or roaring the walls down. So anything you want to do before this can proceed as you like!

He'd also need food periodically if they escape outside the city limits (though Temeraire's gone without food for several days in a front-line situation he wasn't happy about it) so that might be another factor making things ICly Inconvenient.

He was also protective of Lawrence in the books, so I imagine he would be here too.
