As you may guess from the journal name, this is Idranel, AKA Lancer.

Lancer in a nutshell
- Famous general of the Fey Courts who spent her life fighting the creatures of the rift
- Successor to her sister, Taldeer, who's soul was captured by riftspawn after a heroic sacrifice to save the Fey Courts.
- Accidentally invoked a massive rift invasion to the Fey Courts trying to reclaim Taldeer's soul, but was able to save them by redirecting the riftspawn back into the human world, resulting in a giant rift incursion in the human world that was BARELY contained
- Killed by templars to stop her from doing that shit anymore

Things I want Lancer to do
- Kill lots of people without remorse because she doesn't value human lives
- Become Dark Lancer after being corrupted by the rift
- Die

Things Lancer wants to do
- Rescue her sister's soul from the rift where it has been imprisoned and tortured for the last six hundred years.
- Win the Grail War. This is second in priority.

I am okay with her succeeding or failing in her goals, so long as she can make a good go at it.

More things to know about Lancer that I thought of after the first comment:

- People who know about arcane lore are more likely to know about her past life than people who know about history
- She is fey, and thus cannot lie or break a promise, but loves tiptoeing around the spirit of the law in favor of the letter of the law
- She dislikes the touch of iron
- Those in suitably mystic circles may know of the city of Ulthwe (pronounced Ulth-way), which stand in the Fey Realms as their bulwark against the rift. The warriors of Ulthwe frequently get corrupted by the rift and have to be put down by their allies, thus giving the city the title of "Ulthwe the Damned."

Indy's main focus is

A) Survive

B) See what the hell is up with the grail and this killing nonsense.

On other notes - his father Henry Jones Sr was a Master with a different Lancer in a previous Grail War, whereabouts unknown.

And Ky Kiske got dragged into the enforcer Role, he'll be there mostly to keep you guys from killing innocents and punishing rule breakers.

While finding her identity through research may be logically impossible, we DO have a number of people with the power to see the future.

Just something to consider.

Archer's status screen - for amusement purposes only.

-In her original life, Archer was already a magic construct (and a heroic knight anyway), and just kind of got made part of the Grail when her creator helped make it. Unless someone has an issue with this background.
-Because of this, she's one of those cheater Servants who remembers other Grail Wars. She's moderately angsty about it.
-Signum is very ancient, pre-Rift, even. The civilization she was part of laid a lot of groundwork for modern magic.
-In this Grail War, Signum doesn't really care about anything but her Master. Unfortunately, her Master "is" the Grail, in the same sense that Ilya or Sakura is in canon - she's the conduit for all the magical power. This means the longer the war goes on, the worse off she gets, and she's pretty much inevitably going to end up sacrificed.
-tl;dr angstangstangstangst.
-Signum is more interested in fighting than winning, herself. She will try to take down Servants as best she can to protect Hayate, and is willing to go against her orders to do that.

As for end results, mainly I'm in this for the cool fight scenes and that subtle knightly angst I usually play with this woman. And also getting to know and awkwardly hang out with the other Servants in between trying to fight to the death.

I am actually a-ok with Signum dying or fading away from overexerting herself towards the end of the Grail War plot. Of course, there's a canonical basis for Hayate cheating the system like a Kana Ueda-voiced boss, so that might not stick if she gets enough affection points people still want her around.

Where does she keep getting these ridiculous outfits...?
dowhatyoudecide: (well i guess if you want to)

Which one?

(apparently I was stupid and linked the Spanish dub, thus obscuring my intended point entirely. Here.)

I knew what you meant. The point is, all of them. When thigh-highs and a skirt in January is your most sensible character wardrobe...

At least she's one of the few VAs in the show who can actually sing. If I never forget the... thing they cast as Caren, I will know that I must have done something incredibly terrible and that is my punishment.
ihu2carl: Nanoha hovering and looking at something worrying below. ([jac] euno fell down the well?)

Nanoha here. I mostly plan to have a balance between adorable and blowing-things-up, and I'm mainly going with whatever Kiyuu has planned for Fate otherwise. I'm okay with her either dying or living, but she needs to at least do something cool first.

Nanoha:
-A little girl who lives in a restaurant
-Extremely talented but doesn't know a lot about actually using magic from a practical standpoint
-Joined in the war because she knows innocent people are going to be hurt and she wants to prevent that as much as possible
dowhatyoudecide: (last one there's a broken mimic)

Sure, why not?

Ky got tapped as an Enforcer.

What that means:

No involvement with the actual war, but he will punish those he feels are doing evil, and will protect the Magus who lost their servants from the others, so he's more of an obstacle.

Oh I meant to tag this last night. WHOOPS. Anyway!

Facts on Saber:
- Famous for stopping a crazy sorceress from tearing open a hole in The Rift and bringing certain doom upon Dagaria.
- It's actually a bit more Complicated than that: the evil sorceress was her mother, driven mad with grief over the daughter she favored over Fate. Fate's app has the full story.
- Using "Alicia" as a fake name currently, to avoid completely blowing her cover as a Servant. It was her dead sister's nam.
- Shares Nanoha's wish of just protecting people. She doesn't care about obtaining the Grail or getting some fancy wish. She just wants to help.

I would rather she not die, but I might be convinced otherwise in certain circumstances. Maybe.

Did someone put out the call for a Berserker or a Rider? I'll be apping this guy in tomorrow, let's talk about doing this. Most of ya'll know me from memes or the other places I play, so you know what Garvi is like.

[personal profile] greyerrant 2012-02-12 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, Garviel is in as a Berserker, so let's talk a little.

He's famous for: Being the last loyal knight of Belka, before the fall of the old Empire. Defeating the best swordsman and the best axe-warrior in his legions by quick tactical thinking, even though they both individually outmatched him in a fight.

Secrets: During the fall of Belka, he disappeared and became one of the first knights solely dedicated to slaying hell-daemons, the founder of a secret order that may still exist in some form in modern society (we'll hash this out with the mods)

He's also got the Arturia hax of not actually being dead, and this is his first grail war. When asked to be one of the guardians of mankind by the throne of heroes, he accepted the charge, and disappeared from the pages of history.

His wish is to bring his brother Tarik Torgaddon back. (Unfortunately and unknown to him Tarik has been warped by a tained knight of Belka into the Daemon Tormageddon Monstrum Rex, which I intend to have come up in game.)

Unlike most Berserkers, Garviel isn't crazy all of the time, Medea is haxx enough of a caster to figure out how to activate/deactivate mad enhancement so Nero can get a thoughtful tactical advisor or a raging death machine, depending on which is needed.

I am okay with him dying, but it will depend on his affection points and whatnot. Once he figures out about how the grail war is intended to work he may try to bring an end to it once and for all to save Hayate (and archer), since he's greatly loyal to Belka, and they are the last remnants of it aside from himself. Possibly he could be the sacrifice for that, but if Nero and Medea have taken a shine to him they can probably find a way around it.

Oh, and he's probably going to have the worst haterivalry with lancer.

Bahsahkah is probably the only person to have heard a full and complete account of Archer's legend before most of the Belkan Empire's written records were gone, so once he figures out her identity, feel free to run with that.

Also, due to her nature as a part of the whole Grail system, she might feel very conflicted when Garviel starts screwing with it for hers and Hayate's sake, so let's run with that when we get toward the end of the plot.
