Hey Imperial Saga.

My troll ratio was getting low, so here's Nerdo with the goddess Izanami, a walking spoiler for a currently-airing anime, so I won't get into specifics about that yet...but she's in general a very important ancient dead goddess of death and deception who's yandere for mankind, and that's what she'll be playing here.

My planned activities with Izanami:

1) Ruling or being a higher-up in one of the afterlives
2) Messing with people using proxies and illusions for the sake of "giving mankind what they want", which is an assortment of bad things
3) Maybe joining or assisting that Tokoyami thing.

Any thoughts? Suggestions? Info on Tokoyami from the people actually planning it? Permission for spoilers the game came out forever ago really

Idea I had in chat, after getting approval to actually make Izanagi queen of the Netherworld. Anyone interested in "The Netherworld" as a faction? Basic mission statement is helping people shuffle off the mortal coil and stay off, preferably landing them in the Netherworld rather than a different afterlife, though Izanami herself would have more far-reaching goals.

Sure, why not? The Major's a part of both Millennium and Amestris, for example.

Tokoyami is a more organized Rift faction that would later sort of function like a kingdom. Its base of operations is Oni Island, an artificial island that moves every night. It moves every night.

Its current leader is Ninetails, a fox demoness in the service of the Emperor of Absolute Darkness, Yami. Tokoyami's goal is to promote the spread of an all-consuming darkness around Dagaria to prepare for the emperor's advent. A lot of its top leaders are disguised as high officials in different institutions like the Imperial Guard and the Church.

One fun thing to note is that the opposite of Yami is the goddess Amaterasu who definitely came after Izanami did. They're not fond of her all that much.

Amaterasu is one of the gods not descended from Izanami in Shinto tradition. Izanami isn't any fonder of her than she is any of Izanagi's other creations.

I think she'd definitely approve of Tokoyami's general agenda, and is perfectly happy to play a support role to people like Ninetails. Deception, illusion, and misdirection are also her forte (when she's not sending zombie furies after people), which I think would be quite helpful.

Ahh, so there never would've been much of a connection between them anyway. Still interesting to note, I suppose... and Ninetails herself (along with Dakki) is based off of the legend behind Tamamo-no-Mae, but well, she's not really a goddess at all.

Would Izanami approve? Ninetails isn't exactly pushing for the interest of humans. In fact, she wants to create a world of evil beings where demons are the dominant species.

Izanami may be a little more psychological in what she wants to do to humans, but the end result is pretty much the same. She's certainly not going to reject working with one of the greatest youkai.

Point taken. Either way, I approve wholeheartedly!

Admittedly, Ninetails may be wary around Izanami since she generally doesn't like gods. Not that she wouldn't accept help from her, of course, gosh no. Either way, I expect that Izanami wouldn't be above playing around with different sides and factions, pushing them towards her end goal.
