Act 2 Official Plotting Post

This is the official open plotting post of Act 2. All big plots you have going on or want to set in motion go here. We will also have a single open thread to determine who will eventually succeed the Emperor, this is open to any PC, although it should be expected that the proper successor will have a certain degree of military and political power (likely a current Kingdom leader, but not necessarily).

We will be watching this post when we determine the flow of Act 2, and it will determine how we plan mod-initiated plots. Go nuts guys!

Succession Plotting

Despite Kushana's rather ringing proclamation, I do not want her to be emperor (At least not yet.). I need various factions to stymie her at every turn.

Keep in mind that while in theory she commands the Imperial Guard now, most of it is tied up defending Dagaria's borders against various less than friendly neighbors. The forces she can actually command in the field against other PC armies are actually fairly limited.

Delacroix will be preventing Kushana from getting the throne, the general maneuvering will end in Delacroix's death which will be blamed on Kushana, who should in turn be declared a heretic.

I think there will be a log of Kushana fleeing the Imperial City. That will be a good place for Gannicus to make his appearance.

I'd still like to have Xellos be one of those folks to stymie her at one turn - or attempt to help her and lead her into a trap/an attack by another faction, if possible.

I like the idea of Xellos just coming out of nowhere at some point and doing something that screws over Kushana. Destroying key intel, stopping her from making a meeting at some point, or something like that.

You know, the kind of shit Xellos does.

Woo, life's been crap lately, but this is a good time to de-hiatus.

Mitsunari will be announcing his kingship over Sawa and he'll be making a claim to the Imperial throne, but probably too much of a technical pacifist to have a realistic shot. He sees himself as the only claimant who would actually carry out Emperor Menethil's legacy of peace, so he'd probably have decent public support. Mitsunari has experienced visions of Sawa's destruction and his own death, so he's desperate enough to try anything at this point. The alliance with Zeon might be able to hold off an immediate invasion of Sawa, but anyone serious about going for the throne is probably going to want to invade the shit out of that big, wealthy, influential and stupidly pacifistic kingdom that controls a big chunk of the Imperial City's border...

Char's going to honor the proposed alliance with Sawa whenever he's actually in a position to do so. It's up to Mitsunari and any other spectators to try and guess when Char's going to try to betray Mitsunari or pressure him into giving him the throne. In actuality, he isn't, because he's mostly planning to render the Imperial throne irrelevant.

Oddly enough, Char is the Red Baron homage, not the Rommel homage. The Rommel homages tend to keep getting killed. Except Andy. Friggin' SEED.
